Name: D'ran
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Family:
[/li][li]Mother: Deria, aqua rider
[/li][li] Father: I'lan, copper rider
[/li][li] Brothers: None
[/li][li] Sisters: Irilia, gold rider
Physical Appearance:
Tall but slender, D'ran often gives a 'pretty boy' impression that he goes to pains to try and dispel. Black hair is worn short, and always looks as if the last time it saw a comb was a very long time ago. It contrasts vividly with his fair complexion and blue eyes. His features tend towards delicacy...were he a woman, he would be beautiful. As a man, he tends to be accused of being effeminate or, well. Cute. His voice is relatively high, a light, pleasant baritone.
D'ran prefers greens, browns and earth tones, he moves with quiet grace and has particularly delicate fingers.
Personality:
D'ran is going to be weyrleader some day. Just ask him. From the start, he was sure he was going to Impress a handsome male dragon...preferably a silver-bronze, as he finds them particularly attractive. He's going to win every challenge he fights, and obtain a beautiful, lovely mate.
Yeah. He's an ambitious son of a wherry. Furthermore, he's not quietly ambitious. He's loudly, obnoxiously so, to the point where some feared he would end up dead in a tunnel before he even has a chance to Impress.
He's also loudly, obnoxiously, obsessed with status. Neither of his parents have ever managed to lead, and that...doesn't help. Because, in his mind, they deserve to, both of them. His family is the most important thing in his life. Well, with one -sisterly- exception. He and his sister do not get on. It's called sibling rivalry, and it's...well...an obsession. Not that he'd want to see anything bad happen to her. Nobody's allowed to tease her or hurt her...except him.
He doesn't have friends. He doesn't need friends. He's going to be weyrleader, after all. And pink riders? Only losers Impress pink. If they were good enough to be more than drudges, they would have Impressed -real- dragons.
Given all of that, few people...least of all his sister...were surprised when D'ran walked off the Sands as one of Marketa's few teal riders. It's a frightening fit...and there may be only one person who can keep him in line. Maybe.

History:
Some people, even in a Weyr, are loyal to their mates. I'lan and Deria never allowed anyone else into their beds, outside flights...and I'lan's dragon flew Deria's more often than not.
The two had two children, two years apart. The oldest was their son, Deran. The youngest their daughter, Irilia. Both were raised in the creche but with much attention from their parents.
How Deran turned out the way he did neither of them knew. He was a bully even at a young age, deliberately killing trundlebugs, beating on smaller kids and making unrealistic demands of the pink riders. No attempts to correct his behavior worked. He was intelligent, well spoken, and ambitious. He did well in his classes, and showed, of all things, a particular talent for sewing...had he not been weyrborn he would have made a fine weaver.
Once he was the appropriate age he stood...and stood...passed by hatching after hatching. In his mind, he's waiting or a very special dragon. But the Weyr knows...these things happen. Now he's sixteen, and he has another chance...and it had better not be pink.

Name: Einsth
Color: Teal
Age: Hatchling
Appearance:
Einsth is a big dragon, a big male, and made in proportion. Size is, in fact, the impression he most strongly gives. His hide is a rich teal, with swirls of deep blue across it. His wings are broad, rather than long, adding to the sense of bulk he gives off.
Personality:
Like dragon, like rider. He will do anything to keep his dignity. He is very bossy and thinks others should serve him. He gets violent when things don't go his way. He is very kind and affectionate to those he likes (his rider, his rider's sister, and in the future a mate) other beware. In many ways, it's fortunate that as obnoxious as D'ran is, he's got a good strong will...because Einsth is not the easiest dragon to handle or control.
