Nocia watched the delicate looking Talc egg hatch into an Emerald as fragile-looking as her egg had been. As if the Emerald knew how much she loved green, the dragonet looked at her for a long while and then lay down on the Sands. What was happening? Where was the little emerald's rider? Almost as soon as the dragonet had flopped to the sand, the emerald sprang up again and ran towards one of the spectators. Well, at least the Emerald hadn't suicided or gone wild like the Copper and the Midnight. But why didn't any of the dragonets want her, Nocia?

The blue egg burst into a ton of pieces drawing everybody's attention to the large Silver-Bronze that stepped out of it. While everybody was paying attention to the blue egg's newly hatched inhabitant, the black egg in the shadows sort of fell apart and released its small midnight inhabitant. The midnight stayed to the shadows where she wouldn't be found and she snuck around till she reached the candidate Nocia and stuck her nose into Nocia, who was paying attention to the silver-bronze. Mine, your Ihrth chooses you to sneak around with her and avoid the others. We are the smart pair. Macara was the only person that had been watching the young midnight. She was so glad that she was not the only midnight rider anymore. Yes, she was glad that she would be the weyrling master for this clutch.
Dragon's name: Ihrth (Ihr means You'll in German) Color: Midnight Age: Just born Appearance: She is a small and cloudy midnight, looking like she is covered with dark stormy clouds all over her. Hopefully you don't see lightening... Personality: She is a sweet heart of a dragon. She loves to sneak around and she is fascinated with the escaping. She loves hiding and having her rider find her. She is also very protective of her rider and only likes people her rider likes. Others beware....

Nocia watched the handsome Silver-Bronze break out of his egg. There weren't any dragons like that at Glory Island. Of course, the Copper, the two Teals, the Midnight, and the Fire hadn't had any dragons like them at Glory Island either, so that was a bit of a moot point. As she let her mind wander, Nocia felt a nudge and looked down to see a small, but beautiful, Midnight with a patchy look to her hide like storm clouds.
Mine, your Ihrth chooses you to sneak around with her and avoid the others. We are the smart pair.
"Well then, Ihrth, I should get you fed, you darling, beautiful dragon you." Ihrth nudged Nocia's leg in agreement and Nocia led the dragonet over to the food, reminding her to chew as the young Midnight stuck her nose in the bucket.

What both the candidate and the dragon hadn't noticed was their shadow of a wild brown flit. They only noticed it as the little just hatched youngster bumped Nocia and then Ihrth begging for food. Soon people saw that a clutch was hatching, but everyone knew that unless a wild flit came to you, you didn't try to force it to impress you.

Nocia was absorbed in the young Midnight that had quickly become the center of her world. Ihrth was was perfect, but the other Midnight had had been pretty too.
Feed me.
Ihrth interrupted Nocia's musing by bumping her hand hard. Nocia reached into the pail again for more meat and scooped up not just a piece of meat, but a brown firelizard as well. After detaching the baby firelizard from the meat, Nocia's job was more than doubled in difficulty. She had to feed not only her dragon, but a firelizard too. The baby firelizard took tiny pieces of meat and that along with Ihrth's insistance that she be fed now took a lot of Nocia's focus. What had that cute little brown been thinking?

Everyone was starting to feel sorry for Nocia, what with a flit and a dragon to feed. Then, they realized that there was another flit bugging her for food. The flit had noticed its brother getting food and the wild green also wanted food. What a day for poor Nocia. Impressing to 2 flits and a dragon at the same time is not fun...
The Silver-Bronze on the other hand was glaring at the candidates. Carefully he projected to everyone, I am Jungeth, and none of you are worthy of me. Send me a pink to feed me, I am hungry. The silver-bronze hadn't impressed and yet he wanted to live in the wery like a pampered wild. Yes, he liked being pampered.
Dragon's Name: Jungeth (Junge means boy in German) Color: Silver-Bronze Age: just born Appearance: He is more silvery than bronze gicing him very much of a glow to his beautiful and perfect hide. He was a very well proportioned large silver-bronze. Very beautiful is the main word that could describe him. Personality: He is Vain and considers it his due to be pampered by pinks. He is very convinced that he is the best thing out there. He is like a wild living a pampered life... No one was ever worthy of him...

"Ack," was Nocia's not so articulate response to the green firelizard who was now also begging for food. This was getting crazy, trying to deal with one firelizard and a dragon, but two? She liked the green and the brown, but that was enough thank you very much. How was she going to deal with all that itchy hide to be washed and oiled. Well, that was life and it sometimes threw surprises at you. Handling the newly Impressed trio was hard work. It seemed as soon as she'd gotten all the mouths fed, the one that had gotten food first was gaping at her again.
"Calm down, everyone. I've only got two hands and I can't go much faster without dropping the food." She'd fumbled a few pieces already and that had earned her a light nip from the brown. At least he hadn't drawn blood, with a wild bred firelizard like that, she might have expected him to be nastier when his meal was delayed.

Irilia glanced over at D'ran. She envied him even more now. Well, not that dragon, but a dragon.
Any dragon. Any non-pink dragon. But each egg put her closer and closer to being left again.
An emerald, that chose a girl from the Stands, a weyrbrat not quite old enough to stand. It happened, sometimes, and it hurt less than a dragon going wild. A midnight, that chose a quiet candidate, a bit of a loner...and then she realized that some wild firelizard queen had laid a clutch somewhere...and that poor girl now had two firelizards as well.
Poor girl.
There was a gorgeous silver-bronze too, and Iri was gay enough to contemplate the males, but he refused to Impress -or- go wild. "Wonder if we can get him to fly with the wings."
D'ran was still feeding his teal walking stomach.
Yeah. She was jealous. And she was at risk of never being able to properly talk to her brother again...

Gavrie shook his head as poor Nocia Impressed a dragon and two wild fire lizards in quick succession. She would definitely have her hands full! The wild fire lizards must have been attracted by the excitement of the Hatching. As she left the sands, he focused on the Silver-Bronze, an impressive hatchling.
Then, the large male's voice echoed in his head, and he shuddered. He didn't have any right to boss people around! He had to either Impress or go wild. He glanced at Alexei, who shrugged. Strange things were bound to happen at a Hatching, and at least the Silver-Bronze hadn't mauled anyone.

Zenniel was so confused. She would not even begin to know what was happening. She frowned, but watched as more dragons hatched. The male dragons' voice entered her head, and she groaned. She didn't want him. Please not him! She looked away, unable to look at the commanding thing. Hera hissed at him, and Sticker just clung to her neck. There was really nothing else to do.

The next egg to hatch was the large green, and a pale gold came out of it. She looked at the few candidates that were left. She turned a powerful gaze on some of the candidates before stalking off toward Irilia. She stared around for a second, as if checking her decision, and then she carried her proud self toward Irilia. I Duth choose you, Irilia. So feed me Noticing the gold getting food, a little wild blue flit came over and started begging for food. It was hungry too. Dragon's Name: Duth (German for you) Color: Gold Age: Just Born Appearance: She is a pale gold and her coat never shines unless it is glowing because she is flying. She is a large sized dragon and she has a proud carriage of herself, masking her long tail. Personality: She is very quiet and subtle, though she will get her way. She has a very strong personality beneath that quietness. She would never think about sneaking around like a midnight because that would be bellow her dignity. Color Code: FFFFCC

Iri had been paying great attention to the silver bronze. And a little to D'ran and his teal.
Oh wait. Another egg had hatched. The green one...and another gold.
A more typical gold than the first to emerge. A little bit smaller, and with every bit of a gold's quiet dignity. Pride and...was she coming her way.
No. She'd stopped. Disappointment flowed through her for a moment, and then she quelled it. There were still quite a few eggs...of course. A lot of them were...pink.
And then the gold was on the move again, and right at her feet, and looking into her eyes and a voice flowing through every part of herself. She hadn't quite imagined that...the sense that she was being read to the deepest part of herself, and then claimed. "Duth," she whispered, tears pricking at her eyes. She might have broken down there on the Sands, but something else nudged her.
One of those pesky firelizards. It reminded her that she needed to feed her dragon, her beauty, her gold. And if the blue tagged along, then so be it.
In fact, it seemed quite determined to do so, its hunger mingling with Duth's. "I hope you don't mind sharing with a firelizard...."
As long as the firelizard knows its place.
Iri tempted the blue onto her wrist and moved over to the area set aside for the new weyrings, the other hand steadying the awkward gold.
She felt as if every day before now, she had seen only in shades of grey, that there had been no color in her life until now.
And the look of utter relief on her brother's face helped too, even if his words were to quip, "I guess we do know each other pretty well..."

The next egg to start shaking was the small, wood grain egg. It cracked along its wooden grains and filled a little fire who looked like he was about ready to burn his egg. He turned his angry eyes on the candidates, especially glaring at Lainy like she wasn't good enough. He then heard the call of the wild and left the candidates, leaving poor Lainy almost in tears. He was too wild for a tame weyr. He left with the Ocean Island Fair.
Dragon's Name: Erth (er is he in German) Color: Fire Age: Just Born Appearance: He has a bright flaming hide that looks like it is wreathed in flames that are almost so hot that they are white. He is not the normal flaming red, he is much hotter than that with a temper to match. He is a small sized dragon. Personality: He has a very hot temper and anything can get him going. Maybe the Ocean Island Fair can put his wild temper into place. The one strange thing about him is that when he is not in a temper (Which is rarely), he is very carrying about others. He is nice and gentle then. A preferred mate if you can just deal with that white hot temper.

Yet another egg hatched. The orange egg had been rocking back and forth slight for the past tree minutes. It kept rocking kept rocking, and kept rocking. Now it split open, in half. But the dragonet that emerged was anything but spectacular. It was a Pink. It headed with single-minded intensity toward one candidate. Mine! I love you! Help me, I'm hungry! The small Pink butted the knees of Gavrie.
Name: Roth (Red in German) Color: Pink Age: Just Born Appearance: More red than pink, if he hadn't have been so small, he would have looked like a Scarlet. The poor thing. Personality: He is not liking the idea that he's a drudge's dragon. He wants to stop this nonsense so that he can be free like the other dragons. Rider: Gavrie Color Code: 990066
(( You have my permission to add more on to the personality and appearance to flesh him out ))

Alexei grinned when a gold Impressed to Irillia, just as he had predicted. Next to hatch was a fire, who went wild. Poor Lainy, she was probably going crazy by now.
Gavrie smiled when Irillia Impressed. Now, what about himself and his brother? More eggs had hatched, and none of the dragons had looked twice at either of them. Then, the Orange Egg, one of the pink eggs, began to hatch. Alexei stepped back, but Gavrie remained where he was. He could tell right away the little Pink was headed for him.
"I love you too, Roth," he said calmly, a smile spreading across his features. Even though his dragon was a Pink, the feelings of Impression were the same. Ignoring Alexei's expression of horror, he led Roth off to be fed.
