Macara grimaced into the blackness of true midnight around her. B'mre had wanted her to begin teaching them, so she had told him to come to this remote spot. Hopefully they wouldn't get caught, if they were, she new she wouldn't be caught. Both she and Xetrth new the secrets of the night, and how to hide. It would be the pinks who were caught and could hopefully fly away so as not to get in trouble... Of course then she would have to move the others whether they wanted it or not, so as to protect them from the unhappy riders who had just had pinks slide through their fingers. Luckily Melara slept in the bushes... and if anybody saw her at night they would just figure she was just another wild...

B'mre and Zenth arrived at the location with the other pink riders he had conviced to come. He had been smart about it and had his fair flying in evenly spaced intervals in a paraemter around the area to warn him if anyone was coming. He hoped that they would not be distrubed and soon that they could learn to fly and be free. He was smiling knowing soon that after 3 long turns he could finally keep his promise to Zenth.

"Hello B'mre. Do you know where the rest of the pinks that are supposed to be coming are?" Macara asked while she slid out of the shadows with the keys and quietly undid the lock on the chains, feeing Zenth.

Bamre shrugged and said " These are the ones who wanted to come. Though there were other I don't think they have arrived yet. The rest are the ones to subbmisve to come and be free." As the chains were taken off Zenth Bamre turned around and threw his arms around the pink dragons necks and siad to her See my love I have kept my promise and now you are free. Zenth nuzzled him and siad I always knew that you would Mine. I never doubted you. Though Bamre knew that after this flying lesson that he might have to put her back in the chains. Yet at lest for this moment she was free.

Des'ran stalked toward the area where B'mre's firelizards were flying patrols. His body was tensed as he thought of painful ways to deal with his father. Sharding piece of wher dung thought he was so great just because he rode a Silver-Bronze. D'yle had to rub it in that he and Yiveth were drudges every time they met. Storming into the lesson, Des'ran walked right up to Macara, muttering insults to D'yle under his breath.
Des'ran, we fly today. We will soon be able to leave.
Yiveth's calm words soothed her rider's temper, but D'yle was no longer his father as far as Des'ran was concerned. The memory of the insults burned in his heart. D'yle never called him anything but drudge or Desmuran. Just because he rode a pink was no reason to take away his honorific. Yiveth was a dragon and dragonriders had honorifics. That was the way of things.

G'vrie had thought about a lot before deciding to join the meeting and see what it was all about. He walked across the weyrbowl with Roth, going slowly so the chained dragonet wouldn't hurt himself. G'vrie was pretty nervous, wondering if the meeting was a trick, but when he got there, he saw all the other pinks.
"Hello. Sorry I'm late," he said meekly. Roth looked up at the other Pinks, seeing that Zenth was unchained. Can I take the chains off too? he asked his rider. I don't know Roth, I'm still not sure what this is about.

Macara quickly unlocked the other pinks that had shown up. Looking straight at the young weyrling who had arrived she said quietly, "These lessons will mostly just be free-time for you. I am afraid that you aren't ready to fly yet." Turning toward the other pink riders she said, "And for the rest of you we will begin flying lessons. Xetreth will begin by showing your dragons basic flight, which they will hopefully pick up quickly. Then we will progress to harness and having you on their backs. Then we will practice betweening. Hopefully this series of lessons will soon be over and you will be free. Any dragon who ends up not strong enough yet will be carried Xetreth." Xetreth my dear, I think the dragons are ready to fly. And they shall learn quick hopefully. With that Xetreth began to show the dragons how to take off, how to use their wings to maximum ability.

Zenth began to flap her wings just like the midnight was doing. She was able to take off and do what the midnight was doing. Though just barely. B'mre was so happy to see this day finally come when he would get to see his lovly Zenth fly. He though it was a bueaitful sight.

Yiveth stretched as the chain was unlocked from her foot. She could hardly wait to fly, but there was no reason to get hurt just because she was too excited to get ready. Yiveth had some trouble taking off, but she could have done a lot worse than she did. Des'ran looked down at his shoes to hide the tears streaming down his face. Yiveth was flying for the first time. The dark pink flew over to Zenth. She felt the wind under her wings and her eyes whirled red with suppressed anger. How dare those other riders deny them the freedom of the skies? The sky was a part of dragons and dragons were a part of the sky. It was not fair or right. The only reason Weyrlings couldn't fly was because the dragons were not strong enough yet.

Roth crooned in excitement as the chains were removed. He imitated Yiveth, stretching his legs and wings. He nudged his rider eagerly, almost knocking G'vrie over. Look mine! The chains are gone! G'vrie laughed and hugged his dragon, so happy to see Roth free. He watched Zenth and Yiveth begin to fly, eyes widening at the sight. Who knew Pinks would fly one day? He was glad he had Impressed at a time when a rebellion was beginning. "Will Xetreth carry Roth when it's time to leave?" he asked Macara.
