What if Lessa failed?
What if Pern had no heroes from the past?
Join us at Shards of Pern, where we explore the possibility that Lessa failed in her attempt to bring forward the Oldtimers, leaving Benden Weyr with the burden of repopulating all of dragonkind at the beginning of the Ninth Pass. The action is set in the Fort Region, with Fort Weyr having just been reopened by 200 dragonriders.
We are a mostly-canon Weyr. We don't support a wide rainbow of colors - just the basic five - and we have tried to stay true to the early books in the series, before Pern went too far afield and lost what made it gritty and interesting! Firelizards will be part of the story; whers will not. Girls will Impress to green dragons, but never to blues or browns. Rather than stretch the boundaries of canon, we've opted to explore the social, political, and adventurous aspects within Pern.
We are currently looking for: 2 goldriders, a handful of bronzeriders and wingleaders, candidates for all colors, and - well, just about everything as we open!
